Renovations to the 1940s-era building in Germantown are well underway and will soon become a new Taco Mamacita. Located at 1234 Sixth Avenue North, the new 4,500-square-foot space will be converted into a full-service restaurant. The building will also feature a new structural steel patio which will an indoor/outdoor bar. The existing building was the long-time home to Little’s Fish Market, which closed in March 2021.

Dowdle Construction Group is taking on the renovations; Dryden Architecture & Design and Smith Hanes Interior Design are providing design services. The new location will replace the restaurant’s original Edgehill Village location, which closed in early 2020. Delivery and pick-up have still been available from the HiFi Clyde’s kitchen on Church Street. Taco Mamacita is owned by the Monen Family Restaurant Group, with whom Dowdle Construction has worked on several other projects, including Milk & Honey and HiFi Clyde’s.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help us make our new location a home; Both Dryden’s and Smith Hane’s designs bring a flair to the project that honors the original structure but also gives it a signature look, and Dowdle has made the construction process feel so smooth even in these turbulent times.”
-Taylor Monen, owner of Monen Family Restaurant Group.
Dowdle has converted numerous older structures in Nashville into full-service restaurants, including Adele’s, Party Fowl and Martin’s BBQ in SoBro. The restaurant is slated to open this summer.
